I have a foxconn 945G7MA-8KS2 motherboard (quite old and discontinued now) but it has a 775 lga socket and I bought an i2 duo 7200 processor and the computer turns on for a split second, fans come on and everything and then it turns back off completely, please help, thank you.

I never heard of an Intel CPU named i2. That mobo only supports intel Celeron and Pentium CPUs. So that's your issue right there. The thing to keep in mind and remember is; just because a cpu is the same socket doesn't mean it will work....this is because of the chipset that is installed on the mobo.

There may be a BIOS update that will allow for more types of 775 sockets CPU's to be used....but I doubt it.

Your problem, as others have hinted, the CPU you tried is NOT supported.

Specs, use [Tech Support] [CPU Support List]
