Illyriad

I had been playing Illyriad (a mature strategy game) until I broke one rule. My game was suspended. The game makers make sure there is no way to talk to them or enter an inquiry. So I tried to create another account, it was suspended immediately. I changed to another email, started using a proxy, and always deleted their cookies before logging in. After two days the account was suspended. How are they tracking me? MY ip is changed to the USA, no cookies to trace with, email is entirely different, log in name is different, and password is entirely different. Beats me. Any ideas?

 

If you used a proxy I really don't know how they are spotting you. Have you tried using a different browser maybe even the Tor Browser?

 

Yes, I have used TOR, that was my first response but it didn't work..........same results. The folks who run Illyriad are very very un-forgiving people. The game is a thinking one, not silly war games for kids. I'm 70 years old now and this game and the defunct Lords Of Ultima game were the only ones I have found that are worth playing for an adult.

Hi Dave. A lot of sites now are banning Proxies. They have the ability to know when you are using a proxy.

 

No kidding. We also have a Shi-tzu named "Barbie", who knew!

 

So Dougie, if I went back to barefoot without the proxy and deleted the cookies everyday, that might work? But they have another rule, no accounts from the Philippines (probably because no money there), (third world country, etc) so once they see my IP from Mindanao I'm cooked. I guess there is no way. Thanks.

I don't see anything about accounts outside of U.S. Where did you get the information about outside U.S. account creation?

You cannot contact them if you are suspended. I have tried all of that.

 

NO, there is nothing there about "outside of US Accounts", you don't get to know that until you are suspended for being in a third world country or using a proxy. Before I was suspended I tried to register at the forum, was told my IP was in an excluded zone (meaning a third world country like the Philippines). Rich customers only thank you very much!

 

Hmm "For questions regarding your suspended account contact community@illyriad.co.uk." it specifically says suspended account? Interesting to say the least.

That link takes you to the main page but there is no way to contact them. They just recite the rules to you! Going to the community is the "Forum". You cannot use the forum unless you are registered and if you try to register from a blocked country, forget it.
You are right about one thing though you can play the game from other sites like FB, Google, Steam, etc. But, if they suspend you the site that you are playing from locks you out until you can prove to them you are who you say you are. Suspect Activity they called it. I know because I had to email in a copy of my id before I could get back into FB.
I might try and use a FB site I don't necessarily need to keep and try again. But they have traced me there too but don't ask me how.

I don't know what version of Windows you use but if it is 8 or 10 they also say it is available on the Windows store. From what I read I guess this version is different then the regular browser version. Could give that a try also.

 

What rule did you break? 9 times out of 10 when users try to access a suspended account by circumventing the logins (which in itself is another rule violation), this usually turns into a permanent suspension/block/ban.

 

The link that I posted in post #13 is actually an email address. I am not sure what you are using to "open" it but it should be an email app. It does not take you to the main page. From everything I have read in their forums it seems this is the way to contact them and a response will be made.

 

Well, whenever I click on that link my Google Browser comes on but takes me no where. When I copy and paste that link to my browser and go to that address I get the main page. I tried to use that address in my email as an email acctg and my email gave me the error "need a real email address.
I already used my least used FB acct and got back into the game. I will let you know in a couple days or sooner when I get suspended. If I don't get booted out again it will take me months to get back to where I was before. Will let you know.

 

I tried it as am email address but was asked to list a real email address.
