When I start IE I get this message in a bar across the top "Internet
explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled. Click here to manage, disable or remove your add-ons." I click it and everything listed is enabled. If I close the message bar it seems to function normally but whenever I go to a new page it pops up again. What is causing this?
Also when I go to Microsoft Updates I am unable to install the Active X control required to view the web site. Are these issues related?

I'm not sure where you're going to open I.E.

    Read this

    Read this too

I know it specifically talks about IE7. But IE7 and IE8 will be similar in some ways.

You will need to reset Internet Explorer. Open Internet Explorer and from the Tools
menu, click on Internet Options, select the Advanced tab and click the radio Reset
button on the bottom right. Restart your computer.
