sorry im new to this forum and didnt really know where to post this. so i have a acer laptop with windows xp and google chrome internet browser,i have recently been banned from a online game for having a duplicate account which is BS because the other account was not mine.i tried using a proxy server to make another account it worked for about 10 min. then i was banned again,i even changed my ip address and the same thing happened banned again after 10 min so i finally realized that they banned my laptop itself not just my ip address so i was wondering if anyone knew a way for me to be able to play the game again without getting banned and have to worry about them finding out that they have already banned me. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

I am afraid that you have provided very little information for us to go by and what is here is confusing at best. I find it difficult to believe that there is some gaming site that can go much beyond an IP check. Neither do I understand why one would take such a severe step as banning someone for having more than one account.

What site are you referring to and have you contacted them?

the name of the website is http://www.prisonblock.com i have contacted them about my ban and they said that there systems show that my account is a duplicate of another account that has been banned they also said that there systems show both accounts logged in from the same ip address and same computer

It seems after reading their forums etc. that they err in favor of their own interests and not their members. You need to talk to them although they appear unmovable. This is the one explanation that I found that is at least civil. http://wiki.prisonblock.com/Dupes

I doubt that they "planted" anything in your computer but, if you believe otherwise and it is true, it would be malware or a keylogger of some sort. If you like we will let our malware specialists take a look (after you post the logs they will need.)

It seems that they work on a presumption of guilt and I do not have a clue how you can deal with them.

i would not mind if the malware specialist came in to try and help just let me know what they need.

Have a look at this http://computerhelpforums.net/topic/13814-preparation-for-malware-removal-help/

You will need to treat the computer as if it is, in fact , infected.

    Hi confuseduser

Was it someone in your house?
Do you know who opened this other account?

On some sites i work, registering with a proxy is an automatic ban.

Again, do you know who opened this other account?

I actually tested software that did this on a site once.
It was a 'Mod' that was added to the board software.
The purpose was to stop banned users from gaining access, no matter if they changed IP address, Username etc.
The way it did this was to place a small cookie on the system that was read when the user tried to access the site again.

Hey guys thanks for the help i found out exactly what it was. After spending hours on google and wikipedia i finally found out how they banned me, like starbuck said they put a cookie on my computer but not just a regular cookie it was some thing called a "FLASH COOKIE." I had to do a couple of minor adjustments to my adobe flash player and it fixed my problem i am now able to play again.Once again thanks for all your help guys :jump:

Yep Flash Cookies are different from regular cookies and can only be removed through the Flash player settings on line.

It is their software and their program so they can do pretty much what they have designed it to. I f they are set to allow whoever is administering the game to read your private messages then they may well be doing just that.

There does not seem to be much we can do about it.They clearly take some pretty extreme measures to protect what they deem the integrity of their game.

That being said, I am in no position to judge the right or wrong of it. All I do know is that I have read their forum and if they posted here the way they post there they would be the ones banned.

well i just made another account right now and playing so i think it would be safe to say that they do track personal messages that are sent from player to player because i have not been banned yet

Good luck confused but at this point all I can say is that this is not a computer issue.
