How to safely blank password?

    Hey guys, an elderly person who has serious memory issues can't get into his laptop, any way I can "safely" try to blank/reset the password on his Lenovo Ideapad 3 laptop please? I don't want to risk damaging his windows install or possibly damage/lose any of this files.

    Ok understood. I guess I will need to go the hard route and pull out the drive to attempt data recovery for him so he can get his files then I can reload OS.
