Might seem a stupid question but when I want to add an image I press the Insert Image button and all I see is a box that asks for 'Image URL'.

All I want to do is upload and insert an image file.

Makes no sense to me at 13 minutes past midnight - help!!

If you use the "Full editor" there is a button below the post box "Click to Attach Files." It should allow you to browse your files for the attachment you want.

same as VB with image tags?

    but a little more seriously

you can up load to the Gallery and use that to post from there

you can as BeeCeeBee says use the full editor and upload as an attachment

or you can use the Insert Image Button (that puts tags round a url.)

If your having problems let us know which thread your trying to put the Image into and we will check that all the relevant permissions are correct.

Thanks - I'm used to clicking the Insert Image button and being able to upload from there - that option is not available here.

Does the 'Attach This File' option embed the file or hang it on as an attachment?

[quote name = 'Hatsoff'] Does the 'Attach This File' option embed the file or hang it on as an attachment?[/Quote]

once you have uploaded the image it will be an attachment, and on the right side you will have an option to "Add to Post" or Delete, once you click add to post it will insert a clickable thumbnail image like this

    Brits are cool.PNG

[quote name = 'Hatsoff']How does that help upload a local hard drive image?[/Quote]

If you click on the Down arrow next to your name at the bottom of the drop down menu is the my gallery option, if you upload an image into your gallery you can then link to it with the image button and you get this.
