Hello looking for some help getting windows vista to work right again. i posted my issue in the vista thread and after the greatly helpful guys and i went through what might help i was told to post here.
i'm preparing to post up the requested info to be as useful in the process as i can. i have ran into a problem with the last step. i have the adware log and the malwarebytes log but FRST won't start for me. i click it to run the program and the loading icon will run for around 30 minutes then it goes away without the program starting. i have made sure it's the right one for my 32 bit system. any help would be more than appreciated so i can have the logs needed to be ready for the next step. thanks in advance guys.

    Thank you for the logs.

We need to run FRST it's a diagnostic tool. like having a x ray perform. To get a better ideal what's going on with your computer. The other logs you posted tell us a registry cleaner might have been used. let's to the following

Please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shutdown your antivirus to avoid any conflicts.Right click over JRT.exe and select
Run as administrator on Windows Vista or Windows 7,double-click on XP.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Post the contents of JRT.txt into your next reply message
    • When completed make sure to re-enable your antivirus

Next. Remove the FRST icon off your desktop ( by right-clicking and choosing Delete) or drag it to the recycle bin. We need a fresh copy. If you can't run it let me know. There's other ways to obtain diagnostic report.

Please download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatibale with your system. You can check here if you're not sure if your computer is 32-bit or 64-bit
    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press the Scan button.
    • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please copy and paste it to your reply.
    • The first time the tool is run, it also makes another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply as well.

    In your post, please supply:
    JRT.txt
FRST.Txt and Addition.Txt if it can run

Your logs are showing some adware infections. Before we run (FRST) Script. Please download AdwCleaner again. But lets run it this way, also MBAM Please do the following.

    Please open Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

    • On the Settings tab > Detection and Protection sub tab, Detection Options, tick the box "Scan for rootkits".
    • Under Non-Malware Protection sub tab Change PUP and PUM entries to Treat detections as Malware
    • Click on the Scan tab, then click on Scan Now >> . If an update is available, click the Update Now button.
    • A Threat Scan will begin.
    • When the scan is complete Apply Actions to any found entries.
    • Wait for the prompt to restart the computer to appear (if applicable), then click on Yes.
    • After the restart once you are back at your desktop, open MBAM once more.

To get the log from Malwarebytes do the following:

    • Click on the History tab > Application Logs.
    • Double click on the scan log which shows the Date and time of the scan just performed.
    • Click Export > From export you have three options:

Copy to Clipboard - if seleted right click to your reply and select "Paste" log will be pasted to your reply
Text file (*.txt) - if selected you will have to name the file and save to a place of choice, recommend "Desktop" then attach to reply
XML file (*.xml) - if selected you will have to name the file and save to a place of choice, recommend "Desktop" then attach to reply
    • Please use "Copy to Clipboard, then Right click to your reply > select "Paste" that will copy the log to your reply…

    • Click on the Cleaning box.
    • Next click OK on the "Closing Programs" pop up box.
    • Click OK on the Information box & again OK to allow the necessary reboot

Your logs show some adware and foistware, but nothing to cause stress. There's some other signs. We need to run this tool.

Download Portable Windows Repair (all in one) from one of the following:

    http://www.tweaking....all_in_one.html
    http://www.majorgeek...able_d7222.html
    http://www.bleepingc...n-one-portable/

Unzip the contents into a newly created folder on your desktop.

Open the folder, run the tool by right click on Repair_Windows (icon with red briefcase) select "Run as Administrator"

From the main GUI do the following:

Select Tab 5 and Create System Restore Point

Select Start Repairs tab => Click the Start

The repairs window will open, Check the boxes as indicated, also the "Restart" option, then select Start...

DON'T use the computer while each scan is in progress.

Post the log, to access select "settings" tab > "open log folder" tab, log will be named _Windows_Repair_Log

Let me see that log, any improvement?

Yes do the updates and restart. And report back and give me an update on your system before we do anything.
