I just got an email saying my Web & App Activity is turned on. I do not recall turning it on or off nor do I even know what it is. Is there any disadvantage if I just turn it off? This is totally new to me.
Message says my privacy may not be protected if it is turned on. I am unsure of what to do. Do not recall turning it on or off or even knoing about it before now. Any advice?

I just got the same email from Google a few days ago.
I think the web activity feature was turned on for everyone, by default, in the last software update.
You don't need to do anything about it unless you want it off.
To turn off, follow the link and instructions in the email.

    You're welcome, Bill.
I followed the link and instructions and turned mine off.
I then got another email from Google saying it was off.

I believe I have most of this stuff turned off. Or at least until an update turns it back on without my knowledge.
