My Gmail is suddenly not working. It says go to Gmail Help Center but after I did I did not know what to do. So I thought I would post.
I do not know what to do about this. Says to visit the GMAIL HELP CENTER but that was no help. Any suggestions?? I visited site a few times but did not know what to do. Worked fine up to now.

The Windows 7 will not work but it did up to earlier today. The Windows 10 DOES work. I do not know what to do. Never happened before. Never had any prior trouble with Gmail working. Now it says Visit the Gmail Help Center evry time I try to open it. But I find that no help.

    I found THIS:

"However, Google recently announced that it would no longer support Windows 7 or 8.1 operating systems (OS) in 2023. This leaves users who still use these versions of Windows without access to important updates and security patches."

Gmail works fine on our four Windows 7 computers. 2 are desktops and 2 are laptops. I was just using gmail about 15 minutes ago.

That means the Chrome browser. It has nothing to do with gmail.

I am seeking a new free email program to replace Google Gmail which somehow quit working. Any suggestions? Tried Opera but it did not download for me. Need advice.

I USED to use Opera Browser and Operamail. Is it still free and how do I get it if so? Maybe I should change since Google not working for me?

Maybe the email does not work because it is not supposed to work on Windows 7. I tried to download the operamail and none would work for me. aI have no interest in buying another computer and trying to learn how to work it. .

I repeat this is NOT TRUE. Again this morning, my husband and I both used gmail on our Windows 7 computers.

What does it say below Compose? Waiting for cache?

Now it says I have Inbox(5) that I cannot access. Cannot see below Compose. This takes up whole screen. Also something that says RdrServicesUpdater2_x86exe has stopped working appears on desktop(see file upload). RdrServicesUpdater2_x86.exe has stopped working - 2024-11-17_094347.png

That's an Adobe Reader Updater error message.

What do I do about it ? I recall downloading a new adobe acrobat reader and installing it but do not ecall USING it. It seems to be installed though for it is listed in the START menu as Acrobat Reader. I downloaded it from here: https://get.adobe.com/reader/

You may have done something inadvertantly that messed it up. Weren't you doing something with setting defaults? That shouldn't have affected it but I don't know what else you did.

Probably best to re-install the program using the link you provided.
Make use you uncheck the box about installing McAfee Plus.

Do I remove the one that is there or just re-install? I could just download it again and install it again or maybe uninstall the first one?
Aew weeks ago a Verizon tech was here installing obsolete equipment and I wondered if he did something to the connections but then the PC and gmail worked fine after he had left. I did not mess around with the connections as I recall.

    1) On the computer that isn't working with gmail, what do you see when you go to mail.google.com?

    2) Yes, uninstall the Adobe Reader Reader by going to Control Panel > Programs and Features.
Right click on Adobe Acrobat Reader and choose Uninstall.

    3) Go to https://get.adobe.com/reader/.
Be sure to uncheck the McAfee Security Plus Plus box.
If you see a box to install anything else (such as Adobe Genuine Service), uncheck it.
Click on the Download link after unchecking the McAfee Security Plus Box and anything else.
It'll download the installation program to your Downloads folder (unless you changed the default folder).
Double click the installation program to install Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Look at my Post #6 above. It shows a screen shot of my computer screen after clicking to open G-mail. At first I thought the Verizon tech made a mistake in connectios when replaced old TV equipment but then I realized my computer did not start acting up until a week or two later. The other windows 10 ASUS works fine with Gmail. My DELL always HAS but suddenly stopped connecting to Gmail several days ago. I was thinking of going back to Operamail or at least something different. I do not have "connections knowledge" so have not tried looking at the cables.

Try going directly to mail.google.com as I requested earlier.

I tried the verification instructions. Did not work for I could not receve text messages. Felt it was pointless so I quit. No idea what is wrong with gmail. Always worked perfectly.

I went through some diagnostics and it says for some reason my recovery phone number is messed up. I did not know what to do. It wanted to send me a text code but I cannot receive text phone calls that I know of. So I closed window.
