Omg what a load of rubbish.
Firefox updated today to v57 Quantum..... Legacy add-ons and themes are not compatible anymore.
So basically I lost just about all of my addons.
Admittedly the latest version is a lot faster, but that doesn't help me really.
The addons I use are there for a reason.... they all help in the work that I do online.
Using the search feature to look for alternative addons is a waste of time.... hardly any there. (only 3 pages)

These are the addons that I lost....

Have had to re-install V56 and have turned off automatic updates.

I have a feeling that Firefox just made the biggest mistake ever.

A straight install of V56 over V57 corrected the issue and all addons are back working.
On checking my other systems, I just managed to stop the upgrade to V57.
I'll stick with V56 from now on so that I can use my addons.
If I lose those, I have no reason to stick with Firefox.

I tend to use Vivaldi most of the time but when hearing news of a brand new Firefox engine, I just had to install and try it. I didn't have any previous version of Firefox installed, so it was a fresh installation of the 64-bit version.

I've got it set up how I want it and find it a good and fast browser. The only thing wrong is that the spell-checker doesn't work. I've tried typing quite a few mistakes in a paragraph of text but no spelling suggestions or auto-correction takes place. The language is set and the spellcheck option is ticked. I don't know if this would be a common finding eventually but at the moment, I can't find it mentioned elsewhere.

I'm using FF ESR so I won't be dealing with that until June 2018 when support ends for this version of ESR. It is actually a backup browser.

My main browser is Palemoon which now branched away from Mozilla It is like what FF used to be.

I'm also testing Vivaldi on 32 bit computers and Waterfox on 64 bit computers to see if these will work if I decide to remove FF ESR.
