Hi, I recently burned 13 dual layer DVD+Rs. I created an ISO in Adobe Premiere Elements and then right clicked the ISO to burn to disc (as a DVD, not data), and clicked "verify" (I'm not sure if I was supposed to do that but I did...). They will not play in my blu ray/dvd players, but play fine on my computer.

In "This PC," it says there is still 800 mb of empty space, and from what I could find, that means it is not finalized.

I cannot find a working method of finalizing the discs. I installed a Nero free trial, if anyone knows a method with that.

Please help or tell me what I'm doing wrong.

    Thank you!!!

Hello and welocme Fan1bsb97, I'm no expert on this but I believe you should be presented with the option to Finalize during the burn process. As you mentioned, if you see there is empty space available, it's a sign that the disk is not Finalized.

I'm a little confused here. An ISO file would be a copy of a disk. What was the original disk you created the ISO from?

I think I'm confused as well and really screwed up.

So in adobe premiere elements, I added two video files, exported to dvd, and made a menu and everything. It made an ISO on my hard drive which I thought I could just burn to a disc. The video I'm putting on dvds is a 2 act musical which is about 2.5 hours long, so I bought dual layer. When I put the DVD in my computer, it opens in VLC player like a normal DVD. The menu is there and I can click my different scenes.

Now, when I right click on the dvd, it says UDF format. I didn't even know what that was and when I started burning I checked "for dvd players" so I don't even know how or why this happened.

I don't know how to convert the avi files to dvd format to burn. I have a nero trial installed, but honestly can't figure it out at the moment. I'm mad cause I wasted half the expensive DVD pack and don't know what I'm doing. And I'm embarrassed because I'm an elementary computer teacher and should know what I'm doing LOL. When I used Nero years ago, I remember just adding files, and it made me a menu and burned the DVDs right then and there. Now I'm lost.

That's what I would expect it to do. I wish I knew more about the whole DVD burning scenario. I've used only a couple of DVD burning applications while converting VHS tapes to DVD. I'd record the tapes to the computer. That made a file which I could add menus to. Once done, I would tell it to make a playable DVD from the computer files and it was done.
