Error Code 66A

    I am using Windows 7, 64 bit, which I upgraded from Vista 64 bit.
    The windows updates are set to be automatic, and until now I've never had a problem. For some reason the following attempt always fails to be successful, I had not realized how long this has been going on, but it looks like a couple of months.

    I see that someone previously here had a similar problem and phoned Microsoft. I wondering if that would be a good thing to do? I've looked at the Microsoft site and have not found a fix for this.
    The last successful .NET framework update was for version 3.5.1, on Oct.7.

    Any advice would be very much appreciated.

    Remove Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 with the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool, reinstall the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0 and install the Update.
