    Hello folks,
I get the above error whenever I try to play my videos. I reached online, and it appears that code is for either unsupported by Media Player or corrupted files. Likewise, I use Media Player Legacy, so I also tried to play with VLC media player with no luck. I went into VLC and changed the name of one test file to AVI, and it still would not work. Since all my videos played before I tried to move them to another drive, I have a suspicion that something happened during the move and they got corrupted. Yet, not all the files were that way. The one that would play was an MP4. How can I fix the files if they are corrupted? Thanks.

Please explain how you moved from one drive to another. Were the videos on an internal drive and you moved them to an external drive? I rarely move files. I always copy then I test the files before I do anything with the originals.

What is the extension on one of the files that will not play?

Also you can't simply change a video extension from one format to another - you have to use some sort of conversion program.

    I found this https://www.easeus.com/video-repair-tips/fix-error-code-0xc00d36c4.html
I have no idea how much the video repair tool costs.

There are a variety of extensions: Mp4, Flv, Mov, Mkv, I tried the Wondershare Repairit Tool but it was not able to repair them. I tried various file viewers with no luck. They maybe be so corrupted that they cannot be fixed, Most of them show up without even a title.
I was moving them from C drive to an external hard drive when the electric went out. They disappeared from the C drive but some did make it to the ext hard drive. I will not use the mass send to option again as we have a lot of powere outages here in the Philippines.

Also, one more interesting thing. I tried to pull up the photo of my family reunion of 1902. One Win 11 the file shows being a JPG file, while on my win 10 laptop the file shows as being a PNG file. In both cases, I got the error that this type of file is not supported. I tried it on my Win 10 pc just to see if it would open. I tried to upload the file here but got the error this file was not an image as expected, so I couldn't attach it. The other odd thing is that the same photo shows up as both JPG and PNG. Really confusing. I was able to take a shot of the list where they show up.
