I've been asking around and hope to get some input here also.

I'm gettting familiar with my Windows 8 machine. I need an email client. It seems that the Mail client that comes with W8 will not work with POP accounts. So I'm looking for an alternative.

So far, I've installed Thunderbird and Windows Live Mail. They both work with my email account at Verizon. Looking for thoughts from this community on each to help me decide which to keep.

    Thanks

I can only comment regarding Windows Live running in Windows 7. It does the job for me, I did try Thunderbird in the early days of getting this machine, but for some strange reason it refused to work with my main ISP based account, so was no use to me.

I can't comment on the 2 that you mention - sorry.

Since you have installed both Live Mail and ThunderBird I would suggest that you play with both and keep the one that suits you the best. Both clients are good.

I'm liking Windows Live Mail at this point. It's familiar.

An email tile is available in windows 8 by default which can be used directly.
