I use this search engine and though I set all the settings , say, to OFF later I find they are all on again. like they just come back to ON setting even though I turn them off and save. They last a day or so but if I check later they are back on again. Why could this be so???
    Shouldn't the setting hold?

Wouldn't hold, if you have DDG as an extension in your add on's, in Firefox.
    That's my thinking.
What is your Home Page set to? Bill.

Those setting preferences are stored in a cookie. Is the browser set to delete cookies on exit? They also depend on the browser's 'Remember History' option being turned on, so something else to look into.

Browser set to accept cookies. Remember history is on. I used to have these off but then could not do much. Ether way they still are on even if I change to off and save. I also clicked "add DDG to firefox, install".

I told you in #2 that's the reason settings won't hold. Bill, and you admitted clicking "Add DDG to Firefox."
