    hi folks!
I work in a remote desktop and I need to redirect my license key (dongle) from my local PC to my remote session. I tried to do this with standard means of rdp connection but there was no such an option. Without this key I can't work with my software.

    Any ideas?

Mely I have a few problems with what you are asking. If you are seeking a workaround for a missing key supplied by the hardware supplier then our rules do not allow us to help you. If you have the key and are just stuck that may be slightly different.

I am, further concerned about your motives for asking based on your registration. You claim to be from the United States but clearly that is not true. Frankly we don't care where you are from but we require legitimate information before helping anyone.

    Hi Mely

Owing to the fact this Question has been asked or a similar question on a number of different forums, My First suspicions are that you are being paid to post a link to a software solution that's commercially available, but for some strange reason I also have the thought that you are in fact a student that has been set this question?

But one thing is for sure you already have a number of answers so I wont be wasting my time answering this.

ok. let me make it clear. I have a PC at work with software that I need to run. This software requires a USB Licensing Dongle. I have it and I take the Dongle home and plugged into my PC, start a RDP session with my work PC and need it to see the USB dongle at my house to use.
The problem is I don't want my license key to be plugged in all the time. The application contains confidential information so I plug the dongle when I work with the data. Currently I work at home and I need to redirect my license key to the remote desktop and I just don't know how.

    I. You have not replied to the issue of your misleading location.
    2. The dongle you have is designed to protect the software data from unauthorized use. If this is a legitimate query, I would suggest you take it up with the IT department where you work or whoever controls the software for company.

    3. Because of No. 1 above coupled with the query your posts are being put into moderation from this time forward until you explain.

It's not possible, an RDC connection only utilises the hardware that IT has connected to it.
For this to work you would need to have the dongle to be connected to your work PC.

As the others have said this isn't a complicated thread, but the main issue you would have is your IT dept, personally I know that the software we have is tracked across our networks and we can see when and where people log in from etc.
If you are in ANY doubt, consult your IT dept because if this is legitimate then I am sure they will help you out
