During Build 2015 last week Microsoft announced that the browser we have known as Project Spartan in Windows 10 would be re-named Microsoft Edge.

The name was revealed in a video played for keynote attendees and as you watch it it becomes very obvious early on what the new name will be.

Although many would have liked to see the name Spartan stick around because of its Halo connection, similar to the name Cortana for Microsoft's digital personal assistant, Edge is a good name in my opinion. Many whom I spoke to at Build liked the name as well but the one element of the name change that might not be as well received is the new Microsoft Edge Logo.

As you can see below it certainly has a few more edges than the familiar Internet Explorer logo. It is intended to resemble the blue e we have known for many years yet signal a change.

We would like to hear from you and whether you like the new logo for Microsoft Edge and why.

If that is supposed to exhibit a huge change, I find it rather banal frankly.

If you had never seen the two logos before one would think the one on the right was more modern and the most recent. To be honest I don't like it - it looks flat and uninspiring, and very windows 95 like, but then again that flat Windows 95 look was something Windows 8 tried to do.

Now blending the two might look cool!

I find the one on the right more calming to look at.
The one on the left looks unfinished to me.Too sharp.
    Needs shadow or something.

I agree the Edge logo on the left looks unfinished, bland, and as exciting as watching paint dry. A six year old child could do better with wax crayons.

To be quite honest Cindy, I do agree that the old Internet explorer logo is a bit old and stale, however to be fair I would rather have a third choice to vote for, as I cannot in all honesty vote for the new edge logo, yet also cannot vote to keep the old IE logo for what is supposed to be a new browser. Hence no vote at all.

Besides, it is rather comfortable sat on this fence

You're right, Nev. It needs another choice. (Neither)
