I left my laptop sleeping for two days while I was out of town, and came back to this issue.

Certain programs and applications are unable to connect to the internet, namely Google Chrome (which gives me a DNS address can't be found error), and the games I have (Steam, Battle.net, etc) which in turn inform me that DNSAPI.dll is missing from my computer. (edit: Malwarebytes can't be opened as well) However, Skype, iTunes, and Microsoft Edge are unaffected by this issue.

    Some help, please?

I'm pretty sure that this is the cause of the problem: my anti-virus software picked up these on June 29th
    -PUP.Yontoo/Variant
    -PUP.Amonetize/Variant
    -PUP.ConvertEd/Variant
    -PUP.Cherimoya/Variant
    -Trojan.Agent/Gen-Dropper

From what I can tell, these have been quarantined/removed effectively by a combination of Malwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, and TDSSKiller. I still have a residual effect from this in which two Command Prompt windows, that as far as I can tell are blank, will appear for a second and then disappear.

We might have to send this to the Malware forum, but first, let's see what your DNS settings are.

Go to the Windows 10 icon which is usually located in the bottom left corner.
    Click on Settings.
    Click on Network Internet.
    Click on Change adapter options.
Right-click in the network connection your're using. Probably Local Area Connection if you're using an Ethernet cable or Wireless network connection.
    Go to Properties.
Click on Internet Protocol version 4.
    Click on Properties.

The DNS settings are usually set to Obtain DNS automatically. What do you see?
