I view bbc Iplayer on main computer but cannot work out how to view this on the upstairs TV maybe it is not possable

Sorry if not very clear what I am trying to do.

    Hello Bob,

I confess I had to Google to find out exactly what a D-LINK DSM 330 was as I have only ever worked with D-Link routers before. That being said, it

appears that in order to view it on the upstairs television you may need to purchase a plug in. I have also read that generally speaking it doesn't

play well wirelessly. I'm sure that one of our tech's with more knowledge  (that would be anyone other than me) about this will chime in here

soon. I'm sorry that I couldn't be of more help.

    Hi All
Many thanks for your reply. Will wait and see if others reply. The 330 works fine wirelessly.
    Thanks

Hey Bob, Cindy is right I am afraid. BBC have not yet released a plugin to allow DivX media players to use BBC iPlayer.

Someone has already mentioned it to BBC as a suggestion so chances are there might be one on the way soon:
    BBC iplayer Divx Connected Plugin

The main list of avaliable plugins for DivX media players/streamers can be found here:
    Plugins for DivX connected Devices

There is also someone hopefully thinking about making one here:
BBC iPlayer Plugin - is it possible?
Although that was posted last year so not sure if it still going ahead or given up.

Your only alternative, is to download the video from BBC iPlayer using a third party software, and then convert it into a DivX compatible media to then stream through to your TV.

I will also move this to Networking as it concerns streaming of content over a home network :)

Well serves me right I saw this just after you first posted and as Allheart has said I had no Idea what a Dlink 330 was, and have only just had chance to Google/ Research the issue for you

and after spending 40 mins reading I come to read the thread and post and find that Dirty Polo has already solved the problem

Unfortunatly BBC I Player is a Flash player that uses FLV and F4V files, to get it to your TV it needs converting to a file type that is supported by your TV

    [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_Video]Flash Video - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

however just a thought but you maybe able to set up another computer and use the TV as a monitor, but seems a lot of trouble when as Dirty Polo has pointed out the easiest way already

Not a problem Bob, as they say two heads are better than one, and if you can't get over a problem then look for away around ;)
