on my Win 10 Desktop, the display includes a side panel of ~ 3.5 inches.

Can I reduce this area size or eliminate it completely?

Hello and welcome RDB, Can you take a photo of the side panel so we have a better idea of what you're referring to?

If it's like the one in my photo, you should be able to move your mouse over to the left edge to a point where the mouse turns to an arrow which points both right and left. Once you have that, hold down on the primary mouse button (usually that's the left mouse button) and drag the edge of the panel to the right or left.

I can't determine what you're looking at based on your description.

You can take a screen shot of the computer and upload it in your reply.

    Here's how.
    1. Make sure the sidebar in question is visible.
    2. Hold down the Windows key - that's the one that looks like the Windows logo. It's usually two keys to the left of the space bar,
    3. While holding down the Windows key, tap the Prt Sc/SysRq key. That key is usually to the right of all the F keys at the top of the keyboard.
    4. Now get back here and start typing your reply. When you're ready to include the screenshot, hold down the Ctrl key and tap the V key. That will paste the screenshot into your reply.

Perfect! So you're using Microsoft's Edge browser to access your Yahoo mail. That area on the right looks like it's reserved for advertisements. Yeah, that's how they make the money to pay for the email service and line their pockets.

If you look close in the vertical scroll bar that separates the list of emails from the advertisements, you'll see a little left-pointing arrow (>) about half way up. Clicking on that should hide the advertisements. You can see the arrow better in the screenshot from my computer.

Glad we got it resolved. I haven't checked but you'll probably have to close that advertising window each time you go to your Yahoo mail.
