There's been some chatter from users who have been pushed into the latest edition of the Windows operating system, whether they want it or not.

We're here to remind you that you can roll back your operating system. Here's a link to our how-to on rolling back to Windows 8.1 or Windows 7.

Remember, you do have a 30-day window for rolling back your unwanted upgrade.

And you do have the option to get your free Windows 10 upgrade when you're ready -- and no just by July 29, 2016.

As Ed Bott reported, so long as you had the Windows 10 upgrade long enough for Microsoft's servers to associate the product license with your specific hardware, you can roll on back to Windows 8.1 or Windows 7, then upgrade (for free) to Windows 10 when you're ready.

    Thanks for the reminder.

I got a call this morning from some who's computer upgraded from Windows 7 to 10. He called me when the computer was at the screen to accept the Windows 10 license. We decided to Decline the license agreement. It reverted back to Windows 7.

Always thought there were laws to protect the consumer against things like this.

I spent 5 mins. trying not to say anything here. For those who don't like my comment, just let it go...

Certainly, some want to bash MS & W10 and that's fine, of course. I am not going to discuss 10 doing an Upgrade all by itself. It will (can) download 10 but, install itself, umm, interesting concept. Anyway, this is not picking ice cream flavours @ the soda shop... Win10 can be delayed not, denied. There are good reasons for moving to 10. Once one has it, especially @ no cost, going backwards doesn't make good, long-term sense.

It has actually been happening, Drew. I was able to stop it last week on my Win 7 box but only because I was sitting in front of the computer when it happened.
It kept rescheduling itself so I finally turned Windows updates off. My husbands notebook upgraded itself to Win 10 this past weekend. (All by itself)
He fell asleep with his laptop on and when he woke, it was asking to setup Windows 10. It had already been installed.
I believe that it is Microsoft's final push to get everyone to upgrade to Win 10.

Well, we (IT Pros, Consultants, IT shops) are certainly, doing all we can to urge, encourage & remind people to move to 10 by the end of July so, they don't miss or forget about the opportunity.

Not all of us are. I fully intend to upgrade all of my computers before July 29th just to receive the digital entitlement.
I have upgraded many client computers and have been asked to revert them back to their original operating system a short time later.

I don't want to fight over it but W10 can be denied. I am doing/have done it. And, I don't want it.

I have to agree with this I have been asked to put their system back. Have also been told in not so nice terms that is they would of know that ten was like this they would of never updated.

Now I have also have customers that are happy with it.

One cannot help but wonder if this is before or after explaining to them that going backwards is not a good idea nor in their best interest.

I have no clients unhappy w/ Win10 regardless of what they had previously or nothing. And, certainly, none asking or wanting to go backwards... well, they wouldn't cus, as stated, they like 10.

I have not encountered people who don't like it, outside of Forums.. All know & accept it is the status quo & the future across many of their devices.

In all fairness Forums are, certainly, also, teeming w/ positive expressions regarding Win10 which, is not surprising. Many do see & appreciate the good in it.

I have Windows 10 installed on one of my spare computers. I am also an insider.
    Certainly not my default OS.
I feel it would be sacrilege to install Windows 10 on one of my expensive computers.:)
