well it goes like this...everything was working OK with my both my hard disks only that they were a slow to read n such so i had decided to defrag them in hope of faster performance.

The only return that i get of defragmenting one of the drives which is my storage drive totally made it a "blank" HD. There was no data/FAT/partition totally nothing on it after running the defrag prog in WinXP and restartin the PC. That made me think twice bout defragmentin the other one.

How could this possibly have happened?? was totally fine one day n dead the next....really need help to fix it (tons of data at stake) and more info on this.
I have no idea what to do next :\

    Thanks in advance.

I see no reason defragging the drive would ruin it unless the drive was already going bad. If there is data on the drive that you need you'll probably need to send the drive to a company that provides data retrieval, this is very costly to most and not worth the effort unless the data is an absolute MUST HAVE.
