How about adding the Date and the Time to the top of pages? Maybe in the black area at top right. All pages would be best - but, at least, the front page.

I normally leave a number of tabs open on Firefox. When a site loads, I am not always sure when I'm picking from the browser Cache or doing a new refresh. Having a date and time would keep me from refreshing as often. I would think this would be a help to the Forum traffic - depending on how many do the same as I. :)

I am not sure that I follow what you are asking for. Our pages do not refresh on their own. If there is some plug in or hack that would allow for a time stamp I don't know of it but would have no objection to adding one unobtrusively.

If you navigate to the Online Users page there will be a time stamp for the last mouse click from any user on line or who has left without logging out until it ultimately times out and drops off. That page does not refresh either although we are looking for a way to make it happen much as it did with vbulletin.

:D Let me try that again.

There are a number of Tabs that I leave (mostly) open in Firefox. (Each morning when I turn the computer on and run Firefox - the same sites load.) Some sites do a clean re-load; others will pick up whatever is in the cache. One site in particular, tells me the Day ("Today" or "Yesterday", etc.), but not the actual date. If I don't refresh, I can't always tell from the Hour - whether I'm looking at new data, or yesterday's.

For much the same reason, it would be nice to have the Day and Hour listed on the Computer Help Forums. By looking at the display, I could then tell if I'm looking at the latest info. Coming back to the tab during the day, would give me an indication of how much time had passed since my last check.

    Hope that makes sense.

The information you are asking for is displayed in the Bottom right of the page, question is do you see it? the other question is do you want it moved from the footer to the header?

But first off on the Bottom right of the page do you see something like this

I never saw that either! It was probably there on the other board as well.

Well! Look at that! Ask and ye shall receive. Suppose I'd personally like to have it more prominent. Such as Top of Page / Larger / Brighter / etc.

Think I'll start calling you MATCH-less  (that's intended as a compliment, BTW) :p

Have you ever considered "Speed Dial" as a Firefox add on? I not only use it but have it as my home page. Instead of opening a bunch of tabs I have a number of pages displaying on the page. It even updates automatically every so often though that only has to do with the look and not the substance. I have gone so far as to break down CHF into different page so I can go directly to new content or first look to see who is on line, etc.

Actually, I do use it (six groups). Works pretty well, too. Good idea of yours for direct access to CHF pages! :)

There's also an extension that I believe they call Coffee Cup.

Recently (when I was investigating Hard Drive purchases) I set up several Profiles - which does help to keep down the total count. However, I'm coming to believe that the Tabs procreate when I'm not looking. :yks:

Hmmmmm ... do you think there might be an interest in Posts of recommended extensions???
