I would like some information on computer issues on my laptop. The connection had been dropping constantly and sometimes wont even pick up a network, and it wasnt the broadband as we have 2 other computers in the house, plus iphones which stay online at all times.

I installed a new driver before I took it into the shop to see if that was the problem, but it wasnt and the connection continued to keep dropping.

When I picked it up on Monday, a third driver had just been installed and was hoping it would solve the issues, which it didnt.

I had someone come and look at it yesterday, who said that the other two drivers should have been uninstalled at the shop, so he did it for me in hope that THAT would fix it. It didnt at all so its not a problem with the drivers.
It had also been suggested that it may be my wifi adapter (I have no idea what that is) but when i took it into get repaired he claimed that was not the case.

    Any advice please?

What type of connection is it, wireless a/b/g, wireless n? You can check that by looking at the connections. It should have the wireless access point name (ID) and what type of connection it is.

The reason I ask what type of wireless network you are connecting to is routers that support wireless n will default to it if you have a wireless n network card. If the network card is older first generation it will have problems staying connected.

Have you had any problems with your laptop connection before this started happening?
Have you changed anything on your network? New modem, new router, new access point?

    How old is your laptop?
