I am confused. All my computer life I had only one browser on my Computer. Now I have two - a Firefox and a Google Chrome. I used to have only ONE and even so, always had it set as default. Now, however, sometimes I wish to use one and other times I wish to use the other and it becomes confusing and difficult so my question is, if I am going to keep both browsers active is it best to NOT set either a the default browser and maybe make a folder for GOOGLE and a folder for FIREFOX and use whichever I wish at the moment? If I keep both I am confused about which to use or why and end up using the one I do not want. The logins are different because I started with Firefox and later changed to Google but always had only one or the other on the computer. ANY SUGGESTIONS? I am not even sure now why I might want to use a certain one.
And if I have both should I get the Firefox 64bit or 32bit for my 64bit Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit laptop (Dell Inspiron M5040)?
I believe the reason I use Firefox is because the Google stopped working with Gmail and it tells me to go to Help Center which is no help at all but Firefox works and Google does not for G mail. Never found a reason or a fix.

You have to set a default browser. I have 3 on my devices (Windows and android). Don't make folders for browsers.

Click on Chrome or FireFox ESR and it will open. One of the two will say it is not your default browser and ask if you want to make it the default. Ignore Chrome as a default browser, because as I've mentioned it is unpatched on Windows 7 so it is not safe to use for daily browsing. Set FF ESR as your default browser.

A 64 bit browser is the one to get for a 64 bit computer.

Having trouble with logins, computer stuff and cannot succeed at much of anything now. Going to quit for awhile. Above was supposed to be 115.180 ( I cannot make a number ZERO.) for some unknown reason.

I just decided to try updating Google Chromeand gmail. Did not like the come-on to sell me drivers so I closed and just installed the Google chrome browser. I will try it and see what that does. Got to get this dilemma fixed.

Finally think I have the computers working again, at least where I have a feeling of confidence I had lost for awhile when things all went wrong.

Is it OK to have several browsers like Firefox, Operamail, and Google? Used to always have only ONE.

Yes. I have 3 browsers on several devices (Windows and android). If a site doesn't work properly, I try a different browser to see if the site has problems.

Chrome should NOT be your default browser. It stopped being patched in January 2023 for Windows 7. So you are using an unpatched browser on an unpatched operating system, Windows 7. Not good.

Maybe I will NOT make Chrome the default browser. I did that when Gmail was working and it helped for awhile. I could not reset my recovery phone mumber for they kept wanting to send me text codes instead of a type-in code.

I realized my mistake and set Firefox as default browser and deleted all the previous emails I could find. It was a mistake to try and use my wife's guest sign in. Something I did caused my wife to receive dozens of emails to me. I will now try and delete all from her Laptop. I STILL get the "Go to G mail HELP when I try to open my g mail. I think my recovery phone is wrong for now it tries to send me recovery text codes which I cannot use. Maybe I should call it gmail HELL instead of HELP.

I see my sign in name has changed from BGBG to bbreva6. It is still me though. Having much trouble with passwords, logins, etc. Began by trying to change my email login. Forgotten how. Have Firefox as default and also Google chrome and cannot login to gmail. and have to learn how to change the logins.

If I try to log in to Gmail on Google Chrome it says go to help center but then I do not know what to do. Any suggestions?
Now that I have messed up Firefox I had to set Google chrome as default browser. Going from bad to worse to hopeless.
