As most of you can see Computer Help Forums has changed the software used to power the site. We have moved from IPB to XenForo. XenForo is the new kid on the block and has a clean new interface. We decided to change because many forum packages have become bloated over time. XenForo is lean and mean under the hood.

What does this mean for you the users?

You should notice a faster response when viewing the site, posting threads or sending private messages. The overall user experience should be much more pleasant.

If you have any questions or if you should find any bugs pop into the Site Feedback forum and let us know.

It seems similar yet very different from the old. LOL! Took me forever to figure out how to send a PM... OK... not forever but a bit. Now that I found it, no problem next time.

I guess I'm an old stick-in-the-mud, I still use phpBB and even an instance of FluxBB. ;)

HEY, just noticed, lost my avatar... Have to fix that.

    <edit more>
I MAY have done something other than what I intended but the previous about my avatar was, I'm almost positive, done under an edit of the previous post. If this 2nd edit comes up as a different post then it would seem that edit is not working properly. If it is not a new post and actually is just an edit... OK, I guess that would mean that I screwed up the first time... ;)

Some of the avatars didn't import. Don't know why. Mine was also lost in cyberspace.

I used fluxbb for a while. I like the simplicity of it.

I just use FluxBB for a support avenue for a specific site. It DOES have its pluses! It is quickj and also easy to manage. Don't know that I would recommend it for a full featured forum but surely would do so for a support feature to a site.

Good job Bob and thanks to Dougie for all his efforts. I like it a lot and it does seem to process things a lot faster than before. I have noticed a pronounced difference in the graphics, vids and sound.

    Thanks so much. Cheers: Rich:)

    Hi Rich.

Bob worked 36 hrs straight to get Xenforo up and running as quickly as possible.

Some sites are closed for days during a change over.

I helped where I could and Barry has worked tirelessly as well.

I have to thank Frank for soooo much help in getting the "CHF Free Programs Picks" rebuilt so quickly.

Rich. It will be a little while yet before all the teething issues are sorted.

We have an excellent Team all working together.:)
