I am trialling another Browser called Cliqz, as a second browser.
Very Security oriented. Lightning fast and appealing and clean GUI.

Built in Germany on the Mozilla platform

Has it's own HTTPS, own ad-block,anti tracking, and anti phishing.
From a shortcut, CHF loads in one second.
Very impressed as I don't know how it gets it's lightning speed.
Very easy to install and uninstall, and set up.

I don't like FF Quantum, and gone back to an earlier version.

Could members trial this browser and relay your thoughts.?
Would like Starbucks opinion on this Browser, as well.
    Thanks.

I haven't used that browser but the first I heard about it was when trying to troubleshoot ghostery, a FF addon, for someone and I read the Cliqz company bought it.

I'm currently running FF ESR, portable FF Quantum (because the next ESR in August will switch to the new format), Palemoon which is my day to day browser, and Vivaldi. I'll try Cliqz and give my thoughts in about a week. It takes me awhile to get comfortable with a browser.

I see they also have an android version. I might try it on a tablet, if I like it.

    First pro and con:
    Pro: it imported my bookmarks
Con: You can not install any addons. (I have addons installed in both FF ESR and FF Quantum. There are a few I really want like uBlockOrigin.) I tried to figure out how to remove the World Cup block on the start page because I'm not at all interested in the World Cup. uBO would do this but since I can't install it, I guess I'm stuck with looking at something I don't want to see.

To remove unwanted off the Start Page, R/click on the word "Favourites" and select "View background Image"

For some reason the World Cup box disappeared today. I did set up my favorite start page, Protopage, to load when I launch Cliqz.

I have 2 more Cons today - sorry. Compared to Palemoon and FF Quantum, it loads slower. I suspect it is because it displays ads and they take time to load. (I miss my uBlockOrigin!!!) There are 2 ads on my Juno email page. One at the lower left and a huge one to the right. I see nothing but white space in my other browsers.

Font doesn't always render correctly. Here is the heading of an email from my local museum in Palemoon and in Cliqz.

Also Yahoo has an enormous ad to the left when I sign in. Again, the other two browsers show white space.

From the task bar, Cliqz loads in exactly one second, on two of my computers.

45 seconds and ads are showing. On Palemoon the same start page loads in 20 seconds.
FF takes 12 but it currently has a blank start page.
FF Quantum has a jigsaw puzzle start page and it loads in 35 seconds.

For me, Cliqz is the slowest and shows ads so it isn't one I'd prefer over the others.

    That's fine. Thanks for trying.
I have Cliqz on two computers, and never seen one ad, as it has it's own ad-block.

Strangest thing. I want to Juno email and there was this large ad at the top for Toyota, then it disappeared.
So I guess if I wait long enough, the ads go away.
On the other browsers, the ads never show up.
