I got a new computer recently (Windows 8). I'm no computer guru, but I can usually do some things after reading instructions and fooling with it for a little while. I downloaded some songs to my computer, and for the first time in my life, I actually burned a CD. However, I've been trying to burn another for 1 1/2 weeks, and regardless of what I do, it WON'T BURN ANYMORE. I have my list ready to burn, have Audio CD clicked, have clicked "Start Burn", have inserted 8 different blank CD's, and regardless of what I do, it keeps kicking my CD's out and saying that I have to insert a blank disc and the disc will automatically start to burn. BUT IT NEVER DOES, and I'm about to pull my hair out! Don't know why it worked the first time but won't anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hi, firstly, do try all the good advise as so far given as that will at least hopefully remove any software problems.

However if still a problem and it will not burn a disk, there is a possibility the CD/DVD drive has a hardware fault, considering the computer is nearly new, it should still be under warranty, so it should cost nothing to have it checked out.

It is not unknown for things to fail after the first use, and it just may be nothing more than the writing head in it has stuck.

    Nev.
