OK well this is probably beyond stupid, but i currently have two 1 gig sticks of ram in my computer....corsair xms2 ddr ram....i just bought essentially the same sticks on newegg.com however they are just bigger....two sticks of 2 gig corsair xms2 ram.....can i use all of them? like both my two old 1 gig sticks with my two new 2 gig sticks to have a combined total of 6 gigs? my motherboard supports up to 8 gigs...so Im good there

If you have 4 slots and if the motherboard supports that amount then yes you can put them all in.

thanks for the reply.....bUt I think my board lied!.... even though it says it supports up to 8 gigs of ram....when I put any combination ABOve 5 gigs of ram my computer freezes at the Bios screen during bootup. Its not any of the ram sticks because I tested them individually by putting one in a a time and booting the computer..smooth sailing....and I ran memtest on all of them...and no errors....It just seems my board wont support over 5...COOL LIE!
