Burning On A Dvdrw Disk

Hi,

I have tried numerous times to burn to a DVD-RW disk and every time when it comes to the point of burning it gives me a <<Burning Process Wrong"!!!!!>> I know I succeeded once but tried so many things that I really dont know how I succeded.(Formating, erasing etc.,) even tried different make of DVD-rw (Maxwell & NexXtech)
I have had no problems writing on a DVD-R.
Having succeeded once with the DVD-RW disk, I figure I have the right disk and DVDRW drive.

What am I doing wrong? Help!!!!

Which software are you using to burn your disks?
What is it you are burning, data or films etc?

 

There are a few things we need to know in order to help you. First what program do you use to burn discs? Next what is the make and model number of the optical (CD/DVD) drive that you are suin? . If you don't know you will find it in your device manager (I don't know what Operating System you are using so I can't be more specific than that. If that fails what is the make and model of the computer?

 

Ok.The burning software is Super DVD Creator 9.8 and the optical drive is BENQ DVDRW (device manager identifies it as BENQ DVD DD DW1620). My OS is WindowsXP. And what I am trying to burn is a film.

If you dont mind my asking what is it you are trying to burn?

Try setting your burn speed at 4X , for what ever your burning you may have it set on a high burn speed which it is maybe struggling with.

EDIT;

I see your trying to burn a movie when burning movies always burn at the lowest speed.

 

It is actually set at 2.4

 

well I wouldn't recommend burning movies to RW i would only use DVD - R

Are copying you own DVD movies and burning them onto a DVD or are these movies from another source?

 

If you are trying to copy a movie DVD with copyright protection,you won't be able to.

 

Try burning some data to your RW (you can always wipe it again later).

Are you trying to burn a movie from another DVD to your RW? If so you will find that nearly all films are burnt onto dual layer disks (8.5Gig) so it would not fit onto an ordinary DVD. If that is the case there are many programs that will deal with this, DVDFab being one of them but it isnt cheap.

 

correct, however there are many programs that will allow you to burn movie to a 4.7GB DVD, but im not sure this is what he is trying to do.

 

HERE is a little bit more information on DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD-RAM this will give a better understanding about DVD's just in case you were kinda wondering

Trying to burn a movie from a file downloaded from the internet so that I can play it on my DVD player. In other words AVI converted to VOB..

 

Ok, then you will need to convert the AVI file to DVD.......... you will need to use a converter like Aleesoft Free MKV Converter although i use a paid program to do that called convertXToDVD.

when it converts using either of the converters it gives the option to burn straight on to DVD.

I am using a program called Super DVD Creator that takes my AVI file & converts it to VOB and burns it onto a DVD and in this case I am trying to use a DVD/RW disc and this is all done in ONE step. I get the "burning wron process" at the very end. But I believe I just found the solution. Instead of doing it in one step I can do the conversion to VOB as a first step and Burn as a second step. I will see if I am right since it worked once already.

Also dont assume that your DVD player can play the disk, most support DivX/AVI etc but some don't.

DVD-/+RW always burn at a much slower rate than DVD-/+R

Most people use DVD+R or DVD+RW as they are meant to be 'more compatible'
