Hi Pete and welcome to Computer Help Forums.

A number of things can cause this.
    A few things to check.

VGA cable connected to motherboard instead of Graphics card.
CPU fan connected to the wrong connection on motherboard. ( needs to be 4 pin connector on motherboard)
Bent Processor pins. (Check rows both ways only with magnifying glass)
Cooler incorrectly seated and getting too hot in seconds.

Note. 6th generation CPU's pins are so fine many people damage the CPU's on install.

    hello.
The cpu I simply sat into its slot correctly. The cpu would not move.
The graphics sit in a pci 16 slot
there is no graphics slot in the mother board

The cpu fan is connected to the 4 pin cpu connector which is nect to the ram.

the cooler is well mounted, the bracket is firm and the cooler is screwed down well.

Do you think it could be the graphics card?

The pc does not reboot and as I watch it, it appears to run smoothly. Its a continous function

Have you connected the 8pin 12v connection to motherboard? Top left corner of motherboard.
(I have forgotten that one once)
Presume you have connected power to the GPU?

Hello yes I have connectted the 8 pin 12v top left corner of the motherb.
Do you mean power to the graphics card?

I could not find a power slow in that but I hope that is what I havve done wrong, is there a power connection on it?

Should have a card that size. I will have to check on that as I am not sure.
I know if I disconnect power to my Graphics card-----No monitor.

Thank you so much! I was thinking and thinking about this so much.
I have never used a graphics card with independent power naturally that was not apart of my thinking.
Its so clear now, the minute you said "Presume you have connected power to the GPU?"
I knew that was what I did not do.

I have double vision, from brain surgery, I do not know if you can imagine what I was thinking.
It took me twice as long to build the pc but I did it and it is real nice.

Thanks so much to everyone here!

Hello DSTM I am back but the issue has changed.
There is signal on the monitor now but no bios or boot up.

There is just nothing, the dvd drive will not run either....

Do you have any idea why this could be?

    Sorry to keep this going.,

    Could be many things.
    Check every connection again.
Remove Bios battery for 15mins and put back.
Have you installed the Mobo speaker.
What beeps are you getting on post?
Try with one stick of ram in first slot next to CPU.
What slots are you using for Ram sticks?
What lights do you see on the mobo on boot?
Are the fans starting up on boot?
Does the Bios red light show on boot? (on mobo)
Have you installed the chipset drivers off the supplied CD?

    Please answer each question, Pete.

Also wondering if the Motherboard may be shorting out.

When you have tried all above, leave everything connected to mobo.
Remove all screws Motherboard to risers.
    Lift up motherboard a little.
Slide a piece of cardboard or under the motherboard and then see if it boots.

PS. Hope others put forward their thoughts as well.:)

    Thank you

    Check every connection again.

Yes I have checked and rechecked the connections, all are fitted but I notice the 9 pin slow which is the bottom left corner, it has no plug.

This slot is next to the 4 pin hd audio.

Is it bad if the mother board shorts out?

The case has built in stands..

Yes it is bad if the mobo shorts out.
You won't hear beeps without a mobo speaker.
You need to use matching slots, The two red slots.
No lights on mobo on boot is a real issue. Wires connected wrong or board shorting out is my thinking at the moment.

I have one of these boards in one of my PC's but cant check now.
    Will do tomorrow.
Do the motherboard cardboard test I told you.

Why would the mother board short out?
    The case has raised heads.
The board sat even on the raised heads but I did screw into two separate stands also.

I am not using matching colour slots for the ram but I did try individual ram sticks but not in the slots close to cpu.

Tomorrow I will change the ram to the one slot close to the cpu.

I think it is most likely the wire is connectred worng cause of my vision.

could it be the power/ reset wires, I think that was 5 small plugs.

I never did see a light on the mother board. Not sure where that is.

Best plug CPU fan into CPU1. Will be a 4pin connector but 3 pin fan connectors will fit also.
Your HD audio wiring marked (HD AUDIO) goes on Pins marked HD Audio (Furtherest plug bottom left of motherboard)
    4pin and 9 pin empty.
I just had a look at my Fatal1ty mobo for you.
    Speaker goes bottom fatherest right.
You sure you have case wires to mobo on correctly?

No lights light up on mobo on boot.I just checked mine.

All cases require risers to be screwed into the case for the mobo to sit on.
One in wrong place will give you a short.
Get a friend to hook up case wires if your eyesight is bad.
I use a magnifying glass to hook up these wires.
