Am getting blue screen with error message 0x0000035 - something about part of boot startup being missing? I recently had to go into the registry to change something and though I'm sure I was careful not to mess with anything else, maybe I accidentally deleted something? I literally can't get anything on screen except the blue screen and the screen about boot order that comes up when pressing f12 but nothing ivetried in tgere woRks . IAm I maybe going to have ito getwindows 10 on physical media and reinstall it?

It certainly sounds as if you farkled the registry.
It's always a good idea to make a registry backup with a program such as Erunt
If your boot manager is missing, there are ways to rebuild it but not if you are getting a BSOD.
I suggest that you download Windows 10 to a flash drive and reinstall.

ERUNT wasn't updated to support Windows 7 and higher.... it works but the backup will not include all the registry components and some times it fails throwing up some error.

Also if running Win7 or higher, it's recommended that you click NO when asked if you want to create an entry in the Startup folder.
This is because the automatic backup won't work with Win7 or higher.

A better backup tool for Win7/8/10 is Tweaking.com - Registry Backup this one is updated frequently.

Thanks, Pete! I didn't realize that.

You can also backup the registry using regedit in Windows 7 - 8 - 10.

Unfortunately. I only have the one computer which isisntworking - I was thinking maybe I could use a library computer get a USB stick and download WIndiws 10 onto it, thenonto my k computer ? Is it still free though?will I have to prove I've already purchased it, like enter a code for my computer to download it free? If I can reinstall it, can I then just do a system restore to before I affected the registry? Will mt files and stuff stored on my computer still be there?

Do you have a friend or a relative that has a computer that you can download Windows 10 from?
I don't believe that you can download anything from a library computer.

If you have been running Windows 10 for at least a week, you should already have digital entitlement rights.
This means that MS will recognize your computer and you don't need a product key for Windows 10.

You may be able to do a refresh or a non-destructive install which will allow you to keep your files and installed programs.
