Alright, so my HP pavilion dv5 2077 cl died a couple of weeks ago. No lights. Nothing. I replaced the mobo and the dc jack and when I started it up I got all my lights except the huge one that lets me see things. It gives me the bios blink code. I also get nothing when I plug it into a monitor I tried hitting the windows button and b to no avail and I can't seem to get the bios installed properly on a flash drive. Any suggestions on how to fix it or get the bios on the flash. the HP support instructions work great for about 5 steps the I receive no option to continue the process.

May I ask if replacing a laptop motherboard is something you've done before? Forgive me for asking, but it's very easy to miss something. Even experienced techs make a mistake once in a while.

If you are absolutely certain that no errors where made during the installation of the new board and every connection was made correctly, are you confident that the replacement board was a good one? Was it second hand off ebay?

Do you hear the CPU fan spin up when you hit the power button?
Did you plug in the CPU fan?
Was the CPU replaced or did you use the old one?
Was new paste applied to the CPU...whether new or old?

I've posted a video below which may or may not help you establish whether or not you have put the thing together properly.
