Firstly, sorry to populate threads but unfortunately, I've been born indecisive!

Having considered Samsung as the primary manufacturer of my next phone, and using a Lumia 520 for work, interested in looking at Microsoft phones as it might be a different experience but a better one. It meets my requirements in terms of general usage, small selection of communication apps (WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook) and some games

My price is £200 that I've set aside but any thoughts on best phones from Microsoft would be great!

MS phones are being reconfigured to Window 10 for the future. IMO a questionable move. MS hasn't really got the bugs out of the computer version of win 10 yet. I am going to stick with android.

I realize that you are in the UK so I'm not sure what models are available to you.
This Lumia is a really good model and it comes with Windows 8.
It's also an unlocked phone so it should be compatible.
    Nokia Lumia

Yes, this was one I've seen but not sure whether Windows 10 is worth the extra money?

I used Windows 10 for my work phone and admittedly, I haven't used it on a regular basis to sufficiently say I've not noticed any problems but the look and feel of it - from what I've used - is slick.

Right now, you could consider the Lumia 650 $200 CDN or @ higher cost the 950XL. The 950 is about $100 less but, the XL is well worth the higher price. You will really like having Win10 on Mobile (together w/ other devices); nice big step from 8.1!!. I have a Win10 Lumia phone. Does what's needed nicely & solid & sturdy.

Gone for the Motorola G4 which came highly recommended on review websites, bought phone, case, plus a charger to aid quicker charging for under £200.

    Thanks for the advice!
