Antivirus blocking internet / windows 7

    I have a Inspiron mini 10 with windows 7 32bit Starter fitted

    I’ve downloaded Avast and AVG free Antivirus software and they both blocked my internet access: what could be the reason/s

    How do you know it's the AV that is causing the problem?
    What did you have installed before?
    Was the earlier program uninstalled?
    So basically, we need more information that you have given us.
