I recently found a new, (new to me) search engine called "Gibiru". Would like like any input from others who try it. http://gibiru.com/

I just checked it out and did a few local searches.
ExTS and CHF don't come up immediately.
They are either third or fourth in the search page instead of first as with Google.

Dougie......It's a search engine as opposed to a browser.

I also will look into this, they promise complete privacy about whatever your search terms or requests are. That has got to be a major plus for a start.

Your search engine is governed by what browser you use. Gibiru requires you to download proxy software which I am not prepared to do.
A five sentance privacy statement is a joke not to mention poor grammar which is a joke.
I have read every page of the review I linked to carefully.
I don't intend to use a slower search engine than I am using now for whatever reason.
    Cindy summed it up.

Why not use "TOR" and be done with it?:)

Interesting N3. I was able to do searches without downloading anything so I'm not sure what you mean Dougie?

I am going to give this a serious try as I am trying to ween myself off of Google.

You have no way of validating what they promise.
I will never leave Google for some tin pot idea from some guy even if Google do harvest my information.
I have nothing to hide and Google is huge.
If you want the best selection of search results you can't go past Google.

Yeah I don't think this is the kind of thing I would use for a search engine.
Those of you looking for something different give "DuckDuckgo" a shot.
"DuckDuckGo is an Internet search engine that emphasizes protecting searchers' privacy and avoiding the filter bubble of personalized search results."

I'm also with DuckDuckGo. They gave my Mac group a presentation a couple of years ago. They're also local to me.

Great read Dougie. I must confess that I had never heard of it and I do not run around trying to find different search engines but Pete turned me on to
Pale Moon Browser a few years ago, another MOzilla browser that actually I love and DuckDuckGo is the default search engine on it and I liked it right off.
