Good morning folks! I'm really hoping you guys can help me with this. I just bought a new laptop last week from CyberPower. It's got the quad core i7, 16GB ram,6GB video card, solid state drive, solid machine. But right from the start I've been experiencing 1-2 second pauses in all video and even right now while typing, or while scrolling through websites. I've tried 3 different browsers, I've updated flash, run several full system virus scans. This happens in every application, whether it's hulu, facebook, playing a fully downloaded file with media player. I'm completely stumped as to why my brand new, high powered system is performing so badly....PLEASE HELP!

    Hello and Welcome Jason

Because the computer is new, do you think the computer may be busy downloading updates? What is the Task Manager showing for CPU usage? You can get to the Task Manager by right-clicking a blank area in the Taskbar.

Task manager is currently showing 2% C PU usage and 21% memory usage. I manually went through when I got the computer and made sure to update everything. I'm truly mystified and have exhausted everything in my limited knowledge.

Those are good numbers. Have you tested working with the machine while booted to Safe Mode with Networking?

Jason, is your connection wireless or hard wired with cable?

In answer to both, I experienced the same stuttering, freezing in safe mode with networking, Tony. And Bill, thanks for replying....my connection is wireless, but I ran a speed test before answering and got 383 mps down and 66 mps up

Running it in Safe Mode with networking rules out unneeded startup apps. Since it's new, I think you may have a hardware problem. See if you can return or exchange it.

Not having the latest Graphics Drivers can cause this.
You sure your running off the card, and not Motherboard Graphics?

You need to update your Graphics card drivers if you haven't done it. Whether NVIDIA or Intel.
Have you installed all the drivers that came on a CD, they should have given you.

Jason what brand is the graphics card. You should be able to go to maker's website and download the right drivers.

It's an Nvidia Geforce 1060 GTX...I have used the driver update utility (Geforce experience) and it says I have the latest driver. I'm thinking my computer may be using the intel graphics instead, though?

    Bill is right.
All the chipset drivers need to be installed for the Motherboard. You can go to the motherboard manufacturer and download all the drivers necessary. Or buy an external cd/dvd player to install the drivers. (cheap)
Or take it to a computer shop and let them install for you.

Go into Device manager. Is there an Intel GPU listed, under "Display Adaptors".?

I ran the intel driver update again...I am installing update for intel graphics driver, and intel proset/wireless software....i don't think either of these have to do with the motherboard

I got an error while trying to install the intel hd graphics 630 drivers and the program closed...maybe this is where the problem is?
