Hello and welcome Patricia, I see you're on Windows XP. That's an outdated system, but you should still be able to load web pages.

I have a few questions first.
    1) Has this machine been working properly until this recent issue?
    2) If it has, what changes have you made since it was working?
    3) Do other machines connect to this same wireless network? If so, do they load web pages properly?
    4) I'm assuming you have either Comcast or Verizon as your Internet Service Provider. Which one of those do you have? If it's some other provider, which one is it.
    5) What are you using for a wireless router?
    6) What are you using to connect to the Internet right now to contact us here?

    7) If you know what you're using for a firewall, turn that off temporarily to see if web pages load. Did that work?

Once we have these questions answered, we can continue.

You might be using an unsupported browser. IE stopped at v 8 on XP and that is no longer supported.
The last version of Chrome to work on XP is v 49 from 2016.
The last version of Firefox to work on XP is v 52.9 from 2018.
What browser are you using? Please also post the version number because you might be trying to use something that simply doesn't work.

The only browser that is patched and as secure as it can be for XP is MyPal.

We have hughesnet internet. I usually use my cell or my tablet. The router is Hughes HT2000W

We still need the other questions answered including plodr’s question about which browser you’re using. I ran a test today with an XP machine. Indeed, IE fails to load many web pages.

Get the "My Pal" browser that Plodr suggested. If you can't get it at the following site on the XP computer, then download it on another computer, save the file to a usb stick, then run it on the XP computer. NOTE- You want the 32 BIT version.

BTW- Thanks for that find Plodr.

I suspect Patricia can't open any sites because it's IE7.
