I have a Verizon home network and multiple computers but only use one at a time. Is it difficult to be able to say access from one computer a different computer like if one had data the other does not? I never wanted nor needed to but was wondering if it were possible to access anoother PC instead of going to where it is. No idea how to do so or what is needed.

It's definitely possible. What version of Windows is each running?

First thing - on both computers, go to the Control Panel and open the System Control Panel.
Ensure that both computer are on the same Workgroup.
On the XP machine, the Workgroup setting will show up under the Computer Name tab.
On the W7 machine, it will show up in the middle of the page, towards the bottom.

Fixed it where both say WORKGROUP. Should I personalize it more by adding a number or letter or is WORKGROUP OK? Next Step?

Workgroup is fine. No need to change that.

When you boot your computers, do you have to enter a password? I think you may have to use accounts with passwords but I have to check. Maybe someone else remembers.

No passwords - just start right up.

OKAY...I believe I am cured of the insanity of wanting to set up a network connection to access the computer that is sitting right beside this one on my desk. Got to playing around with the "set up network" link in the Networks Box and messed around until I succeeded in losing the ability to connect to network and internet. All I could think of to fix it was to do a System Restore to yesterday at 6:27:11 pm. I had to search for how to find system restore on Google because I had forgotten how. When restored I had to again install the D-Link adapter and connect to wireless netork. Now all it good again and I shall vow to forget networks and just use what I have as I have been. BIG MISTAKE. Curiosity GOT ME. Learned my lesson well.
