    Hi there,

I have a Vista Business Laptop at work that keeps crashing IE8 or FF3.5.1
when opening a web-ordering website - IE8/FF3.5 just keeps opening and
    closing...

Looking at the Event Log it has the following info:

    - System
    - Provider
    [ Name] Desktop Window Manager
    - EventID 9010
    [ Qualifiers] 16384
    Level 4
    Task 0
    Keywords 0x80000000000000
    - TimeCreated
    [ SystemTime] 2009-07-24T15:09:55.000Z
    EventRecordID 5105
    Channel Application
    Computer GillM_Vista.somedomain.local
    Security
    - EventData
    Windows Internet Explorer 8

There are other event messages which have the following:

A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process
    (Firefox)

    or
The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was
    disabled by a running application

Searched online for "A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was
made by process" and got returned a fair number of sites but nothing with
was caused by "Internet Explorer 8" or "Firefox".

Can anyone give me any pointers to how I can fix this issue...

    Many thanks in advance.
