At around 7 last night, I was in my front yard when a crying kitten ran up to me from a utility building across the street. It seems it may have been abandoned. It's a female and is around 1 month old. I put a notice on our community board about it.

Anyway, I fed her, nurtured her and played with her. She kept following me around the house and meowing until I picked her up and cuddled with her. That went on and off until 12:30 when she finally fell asleep...in my bed! So, for the first time in years, I shared my bed with a female LOL!

I love animals, but I would never own one, as my lifestyle wouldn't be fair to the animal. Problem is, it didn't take me long to fall in love with this kitten. Damn it! :)

Ha ha. Yes, I'd love to keep her, but I just can't.

BTW- I'm running on 4 1/2 hours sleep, as I woke up to her at 5:00 licking and pawing at my face :)

I took her outside like I do everyday. She had an epic battle with a blade of grass, then went on to defeat a twig. Following that, she proclaimed her victories by jumping on top of a tree trunk to warn all future challengers. Then a little robin scared her lol.

I bought her a litter box and a bunch of toys. I've also made her a covered cozy bed. Next, I'm going to make her a climbing and scratching thingy.

    Yes, I'm keeping her :)

Well despite that I've always said I would never own a cat, I find myself providing every creature comfort and amenity to this kitten. I've even regressed back to "baby talk". lol

My daughter thinks my incessant pampering and providing for this kitten is hilarious. She said she can't believe how much of a "softy" I've become. Yesterday, we were driving and stopped for a lady at a crosswalk who happened to be pushing a baby stroller with a cat in it. My daughter turned to me, and with a grin said, "Take a good look Dad. That's your future! :boohoo::lglf:

Then to add insult to injury, she came by for a visit this morning and presented me with a pair of cat slippers.:rules2:
