Hi, I cant get window update code 8024200D for some reason, Can any body help
    please, Joe

  2. Error Code 0x8024200D SUS_E_UH_NEEDANOTHERDOWNLOAD
The installer requires more data to be downloaded

Translation: Whatever you're trying to install, your machine needs some
other updates to be installed first.

Windows version? Is this a sudden, new problem or an ongoing one? Are you
attempting to install an update (e.g., Vista SP1) manually or via Windows
    Update?

I also cannot get the service pack to install. I'm running Vista 32 bit
Ultimate and windows update keeps trying to download the service pack
and it fails every time with this same error code. Please assist with
this as when I went to download it directly as other threads suggest it
says not to if you are only installing it on one computer.

I`ve already done everything available. I have tried doing all the
resolutions that were available on the site to download Service Pack 1. My
Computer came with vista Pre-installed, and it`s a Vista Home Premium. It
gives me this error (though before it gave me error 80070002).

What exactly am I missing? I went to this link

to try and download the prerequisites KB937287, KB938371, and KB935509 but it
said that the update does not apply to my system (The files said x86, Is
this 86 Bit or something? My Computer is 32 bit and I seem to not be able to
find a 32 bit download if it is available)

I need an answer A.S.A.P because I might be doing things to the computer and
I want to be sure to have S.P.1 first.

    thank you

  10. I'm getting this error too. I have tried it 2 times with the same results.
One person below, said they un-installed the Japan and Korean language packs
    and it worked for him.

Can someone at MS look into this?

My guess is if there was a language pack issue it would have been Raided and
fixed so, could it be some other test scenario not in the test plan?

Is this a new error that is unknown on campus?

Also, it does come back with an error, however it does not have a link to
what to do for the error. I just sends us to this blog. If there was a error
number, should there should be some sort of exception error message or
    something.

  12. OS: Windows Vista Ultimate

    Short List of Applications Anstalled:

Visual Studio 2008, Visual Studio 2005 (SQL Reporting), Windows SDK,
Office 2007, SQL Server, Expression everything, Adobe Premier (Video
Editing), Starry Night (astronomy), QuickTime, and other misc applications.

I always keep up with every window update provided

The last windows update I chose to install all of the updates, which
included all of the language packs.

Then yesterday I tried to install the Vista SP1, two times, and both times
it downloaded the SP, and received the error.

I have seen others mention that they removed the language packs, Japan,
Korea, or something like that, and they were able to install the SP.

One person said they reinstalled Vista and it worked.

It sounds like Vista SP1 may have issues with Vista installations that have
these language packs installed. A new install would not have these language
    packs installed.

Is there any way to check product studio to see if there were any bugs
raided against installing with different language packs, or to verify if
    these tests were done?

Thank you very much for helping with this matter, it is greatly appreciated.

  14. I was installing Vista SP1 from Windows Update.
I can see the Japan and Korea updates in the “Review you update history”,
    however…
It says at the top of that page, “…To remove an update, to go Installed
    Updates.
Well, I go there and I do not see where I would un-install the Japan or
    Korea language pack.
So, if I’m unable to uninstall the language pack, and I’m unable to install
Vista SP1 because of the Japan and Korea language pack, then, what would be a
    good next step.
The cost benefit for rebuilding this machine from scratch for an issue like
this one is not one I would want to move forward on. I have too much stuff to
re-install and configure for it to be worthwhile.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks again for your help

I have Windows XP Media Center and Windows Update is asking to install SP3,
but I keep getting the same code 8024200D error. What is the additional
