Hi. I just ran into this problem. I have 3GB of Ram installed, but
only 2gb shows up in task manager. The rest of the system recognizes
all 3gb. I'm trying to use Adobe Premier Pro CS3, but it keeps crashing
due to lack of memory. Page file is at the max.

This problem only recently occurred. I used to be able to view all 3gb
in task manager, but for some reason it doesn't let me anymore.

Is there a way to enable all 3gb again to be used for applications?

Please help! I'm feebly trying to finish a movie project for school so
whatever you can offer I'll gladly try!

That is an unusual amount of RAM except for some notebook configurations.
Crashes in Premiere Pro are not unknown even on more powerful computers.
It may help to shut off all unnecessary background programs and processes.
The lack of memory is usually not RAM or virtual memory but system
resources, what the OS uses to keep track of things.

    Hi,

If it was there before, then I suspect that a stick has failed and is need
of replacement. Either that or you changed the amount of shared ram allotted
    for the video.

Yes I realize it may be unusual for most computers, but for those of us
rocking i7 boards and triple channel memory, it is rather common. Ugh,
    thanks for your reply, though.....

ya unfortunately vista doesn't suck as much as you perceive. It worked
fine a month ago. I made a 2hr movie that was 45GB uncompressed with no
problem and the exact same system config. I think the SP2 may have done
something to it. I just uninstalled it, though, and i still have the
    problem.......

Could you try going into MSConfig -> Boot tab -> Advanced options... button
and check the Maximum memory box and set it to 3072 and try rebooting.
