I opened my facebook today and got a big pop up screen saying "Windows Defender Security Has Disabled Your Computer, Call Microsoft Windows Support Toll Free +1-888-714-6121, Your Facebook Will Be Suspended Soon Because of Suspicious activity. I'm looking for a free maleware remover to download from a trusted site, I had Malewarebytes before on the old computer but never downloaded it to my new one. Did anyone ever get one of these pop up messages on your Facebook before? Can anyone help me...

ScreenConnect Removal

I was infected by a phony Social Security email today, and it installed Screen Connect into my PC, It was only minutes Till I disconnected from the Internet, and then Uninstalled it from programs, It was also running in task manager! I am concerned if this was enough of a removal and if any remnants might still be lurking. Any advice would be appreciated

AnyDesk was installed. Barbara fell for it. I think the machine is OK. I just have to uninstall AnyDesk and CCleaner. I thought it best to wait till the expert went over the log files.

I did see a lot of entries I'm not familiar with. Can you please check it? Thank you.

Getting popups

Can't get rid of pop-ups. They come up in the bottom right corner of the desktop when the machine starts and then come up at random times afterwards. They say the machine is infected. They'll display a Norton logo and another popup will display a McAfee logo. Higedgene.com is mentioned in the popups. I clicked the Scan button on one of the popups. It took me to overiessiscle.com
They come up in Wayne's account, but not Marie's account. I can't find where they're coming from.

These keep popping up on my laptop. Not familiar with them. Have just been closing them. What should I do? They come up in group of 3. I do not know what program they are associated with so I just close them by clicking the X. Any advice????

Really Really slow

This thing is really really slow. Edge and Chrome take forever to open. Notepad is fine. Explorer itself can be a pain. It takes a while for things like the Start menu to open Right click on a folder to get the context menu takes way too long, like about 20 seconds.

I remove AVG and Viper yesterday, but they are still showing in the FRST log.
I see System Interrupt taking 100% CPU at times.
MBAM took out TrojanBrowserAssistant.

It's just not right and I'm not sure if it's hardware or...

Hi, I'm looking for some expert help to clean this machine up.
It had 360 Total Security which I uninstalled, but there are signs of it in the FRST scans.
It also had McAfee security which I deleted. Still signs in the logs. After the FRST scan I did remove the extension from Chrome.
The FRST logs show Firefox items, but FF is not on this machine.
Other ATTENTION items need to be addressed.

I did a full scan with Avira Antivirus Pro, 8.0.8. (Updated). It stated i have the following; TR/crypt.ZPACK.Gen2. I placed the above in quarantine. I checked the internet & it stated it could possibly be a false/positive? Afterwards I did a scan with with Malwarebytes AdwCleaner & nothing showed up. I'm running Windows 7 professional 64. Suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Hello and thanks for any help. This computer was really slow to boot. MBAM found and removed a Powershell trojan. It's now much better, but with 12 GB RAM, I think it could be even faster. Please take a look.

Note: Yesterday, it got updated (without my intervention) to W10 ver 2004. That took about 2 hours. I hadn't recorded which version of W10 was on it before the update.

Recently my a friend of mine downloaded some sketchy thing if the internet and gave my pc potential malaware. And just recently I attempted to remove I guess (I’m no expert) so I restarted my computer and to my surprise when I try to log in my computer the password I use is incorrect. Is there a possible fix for this. Is there a way I could possibly reset it to its factory setting? I don’t have any thing of much importance on this computer as it’s basically brand new. I’m seriously worried...

Hi. This machine is just acting a bit strange. I can't put my finger on it. It could be because it was once a W8 and then was upgraded to W10. Initially the problem was that if you left it alone doing nothing other than displaying the desktop for a while, it would lock up. I could toggle the num and cap lock light, but that was it. Black screen, no mouse, no nothing. Had to force power down by holding the power button.

Disabling Norton fixed the hang problem, but it's still not right....

Read an old post that has now disappeared:....OR, it may have been in another Malware forum. I forget now.

After reading this I looked and found I no longer had Malwarebytes on my PC. So I downloaded v. 3.8.3 free and installed it for I thought it a good thing. I am sure I had it....maybe on other laptop which I seldom use. Ran a scan and it found 7 items which I removed.

My buddy was having problems accessing his ISP-provided email with Chrome. Other connections were good. I ended up deleting and reinstalling Chrome. I also installed Firefox as a backup brower. I received a call a few days later that Chrome wasn't wasn't working and Firefox was no longer on the computer. I confirmed this today.

When I brought up Chrome, Chrome didn't display a window. Task Manager showed that it was not running in the Applications tab. The Processes tab however showed two...

I've been unable to install KB 4054530 (.NET 4.7.2.) Maybe it's malware related.
