My dad had his computer infected by some sort of malware that converted a lot of his legal documents to a different file extension and made them un-readable to any word processor software out there.<br />
<br />
It wanted my dad to pay a fee then download a generator that would unlock his files.  He somehow had the program removed but the damage was done.<br />
<br />
Any idea what the name of that program was?  I think file extensions were renamed to Zapdos or something along those lines.  I will update this...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I did a full scan with Avira Antivirus Pro, 8.0.8. (Updated).  It stated i have the following;   TR/crypt.ZPACK.Gen2.  I placed the above in quarantine.  I checked the internet &amp; it stated it could possibly be a false/positive?  Afterwards I did a scan with with Malwarebytes AdwCleaner &amp; nothing showed up. I open a browser Microsoft Edge and right away the bar fills with this: \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\<br />

If I&#039;m on a forum and trying to make a post, the posting box fills up with this \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\<br />
<br />
You can&#039;t remove it, just fills in again. So I have to reboot and it&#039;s good for awhile, then it&#039;ll come back.<br />
<br />
Anyone ever seen this, and is there a solution to get rid of it.<br />
