Is there a simple way to make Edge the default browser? I was trying to do that today but couldnt seem to see a way. The other browsers when open tell you if it is default and offer to make it the default. I now have Firefox as the default but evidently some security settings keep me from doing things IE 8 and IE 11 readily do, and I wanted to see if Edge would do them. Easiest if I could open any browser and make it default then use the URL shortcut instead of typing it in.

Thanks to Doneto for the reply. Just to add - I'm not a fan of Edge. As far as I know there is no easy way to reset it if it gets out of wack. I'm staying away from Edge until that's fixed.

Hi Tony! You won't get any disagreement from me about Edge I don't ever use it. I'm a FF man!;)
I don't hear any good things about Edge. It has a long way to go before I'll consider using it!

I am rather glad that edge doesn't do what I want it to so I wo't have to use it, and also glad that IE11 is on there and it DOES do what I wanted. So that bump is solved.
Wondered if eMail Client free version is worthwhile and if I should get it. Says the evaluation period is over in 6 days.
The other mail program wont do anything because it says it hasn't been 'synced', whatever that means.

I've used it and it looks and feels like live Mail. The free version only allows for 2 email accounts and the paid version, I believe is unlimited...not sure though. Worth it in my book. I also like and use Incredimail....the wife and kids love it. If you're in to that cartoonish style look. It's worth looking into as well.

I like EM Mail and I could swear I used more than 2 clients on one setup I did, but I could be wrong. Dan on Paltalk turned me on to that a few years ago when I had so many issues with LIve Mail. I am not thrilled with Incredimail because there is so much bloatware with it with popups and noises etc...but once you tame it it makes a nice email client.

Deleting Edge from my system was one of the registry hacks and scripts I run. Don't even want it on my system. For an email client I used foxmail back in the day it was really quick and efficient. I have tried the new Windows Mail and it seems fine.

New "Windows Mail" can you tell us more as that sounds interesting. If you could I would also like to know the hack that removed Edge it's a disgrace and isn't even a complete browser and should never have been put in there. One of the first things I do is make another browser default but I too would rather it no even be there.

That is Live Mail Gary which is nothing new. IOceMan mentioned a new Windows Mail and that is what I am curious about.

Windows Mail on W10 is fine Richard. It's basic but I like it that way.

I will check out thanks, as I need something for clients. I didn't know Windows Mail came back. For me I love Outlook and I have to use it because it is the only one where I can have the store on server and access it from multiple computers.

I don't know what I have with W10. I know I set it up, but don't remember the details. It was easy. I just followed the instructions. I have gmail and wife has yahoo. I click on File-email link. I can then choose either account and send a email. I get a blue screen. It says choose which account to send mail from. It works like a charm. I'll play with it and try to learn more about it.

Windows 10 like 7 & 8 has no email program same as 10 and what you are discussing is browser based email which is nothing like an email program. Email programs are word processors with all kinds of features from stationery to signatures and much much more and of course are in your pc not in the Cloud as yours is.

Apps are nothing more than programs. It's the same thing reworded. Cloud based means not based, or installed in a physical sense on your PC or device but on the internet (cloud is a fancy word for the net). Anytime you download an "App" it's the same thing as a "program" in most cases. I know this confuses a lot of people but it's the same -- only the nomenclature changed. The mail app (program) is pre-installed on Windows 10 just the same as outlook express was on older windows installs.

OK Friend! I'm sure some here understands all that. I kind a understand cloud. W10 has One drive that is cloud based. I'm not using it at this time, but it sounds cool and it's free!
    thanks @IceMan37
